Prashant Patel
Ayurvedic Chef, Recipe Designer

Prashant Patel, your personal Ayurvedic Chef and Recipe Designer, is a food enthusiast and an avid proponent of healthy living through Ayurvedic cooking. From an early age, his inquisitive mind and experimental approach to food as a source of nourishment, have driven him in a constant pursuit of knowledge – a trait that has helped him develop into an expert Ayurvedic Chef.

Ayurvedic Food

Ayurvedic cooking is not only an art but one of the key to achieving optimum health. Ayurveda talks about the three pillars of life and food is regarded as one of the pillars for healthy living.

The roots run deep…

For the son of a farmer, brought up in a small but resource-rich village in India, this interest in food and cuisine was only natural. This was further enhanced by the fact that both his parents lived healthy Ayurvedic lifestyles at home. Overtime, this exposure to Ayurvedic lifestyles, a keen interest in the gastronomical process and the drive to be different has helped Prashant Patel hone his Ayurvedic Cooking skills into a specialized art form.

From Conception to Delivery

The concept of a ‘Recipe Designer’ may surprise many but to Prashant, experimenting with ingredients, and literally ‘dishing’ out healthy and nourishing delights is a way of life. His keen interest in Ayurvedic food has made him create innovative vegetarian dishes through ingenious blends, mixes and combinations of different kinds of spices, legumes, lentis, vegetables, just to name a few. Not only are these dishes, tasty, nourishing and healthy, they are also specifically aligned to a one’s specific body type as classified under the Ayurvedic body constitution known as ‘Vata’, ‘Pitta’ and ‘Kapha’

Prashant is skilled at explaining the properties of different types of spices, lentils & vegetables, their individual and specific effects on the human body, and techniques in combining different types of ingredients for optimal benefit.  He is an expert in advising on foods that complements and food that should be avoided depending on an individual’s body-element composition. He teaches quick and easy basic cooking techniques, helps manage the Yoga-Pranayama-Ayurvedic food combination, shows how food habits can be managed at the work place, and provides practical training in Ayurvedic Cooking and Recipe Design.

Prashant is also an adept trainer on Creative Design and Film-making techniques. His knowledge in this arena helps him to use technology to develop creative delivery channels such as VOD (Video On Demand), CDROMs, DVDs, Software and online delivery tools for participants in Ayurvedic Cooking programs
